FAQs
What service styles do you offer?
Plated, family style, buffet, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. See our Services page for more details. If you’re not sure, we can chat about what the best style of service will be for your event.
Do you drop off the food or stay on site during my event?
Depending on the menu, we can do either! Most of what we do is best if we are on site during your meal to ensure the freshest and best meal possible. However, some menu items are good candidates for drop-offs if that would work better for you.
What types of cuisine do you offer? Do you have a menu?
We don’t specialize in any one thing - we pride ourselves on being able to execute a wide variety of cuisines, as casual or upscale as our clients want. Instead of publishing a set menu, we work directly with each client to create a custom menu for their event. After you reach out, we will provide a sample menu based on your initial feedback about what you’re looking for and will work with you to tailor it to your tastes.
Do you accommodate food sensitivities or allergies?
Yes! When inquiring with us, please let us know if anyone in your party is vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, allergic to nuts, etc. – we can accommodate any sensitivities or allergies that you need.
What size parties do you do?
We are intentionally a small family-run operation of just Jake and Larissa, which allows us to provide a very personal experience for each client. However, it also means that we are limited in terms of the headcount we can serve. What we currently do best are plated meals for around 12 and heavy hors d’oeuvres or buffets for groups of up to 40. If you’re looking to plan a larger event than this, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss whether we can accommodate!
Do you provide plates, silverware, etc.?
We provide all serving dishes, platters, and utensils. Typically for a plated meal, we use the host’s salad plates, dinner plates, and flatware. If the host does not have enough plates & silverware for the headcount, we recommend checking out Southern Events for rentals. For larger buffets or hors d’oeuvres parties, we can provide disposable plates, flatware, and napkins upon request.
What happens on the day of my event?
Depending on the details of your event, we will need to arrive at your location 1-2 hours before you’d like to start eating. We will need a space to work from to plate the food, and may use your kitchen to heat or finish some things. We will be on site during the meal to serve, refill platters, answer any questions, etc. We clean all things food-related, including any dishes of yours that we use, and will leave your kitchen so clean you’ll never know we were there. Our motto in your home is the same as our motto in nature: Leave No Trace 😊
Do you provide drinks?
Currently, we only provide the food. Hosts/guests are responsible for providing drinks.
